One hundred forty-six  open fetal repairs of myelomeningocele lesions have been performed at Vanderbilt.

All open repairs have been performed between 21 and 30 weeks of gestation.

Our patients have come from Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, Puerto Rico,  and British Columbia.

One hundred thirty-seven  babies have been delivered. The other patients are still expecting.

The upper level of the spina bifida lesion has ranged from S1 to T10.

Deliveries have occurred between 26 and 38 weeks of gestation.

The average gestational age at delivery is 33 3/7
